I am so happy that the inaugural edition of the Open Sonority International Instrumental Competition took place on March 26th, 2023. The event turned out to be a tremendous success and I am very thankful to the participants, their parents, and teachers for their availability and willingness to participate. Considering the amount of dedication, time, and effort it takes to prepare for such a performance, in my eyes, all of the contestants are winners because I see the commitment, discipline, and diligence they have displayed by getting ready and showing up to compete.

To my pleasant surprise, this being just the first edition of the competition, there was a large number of students participating, namely forty-five, and the level of playing, program, and artistic professionalism was very high and exemplary. The next year’s Open Sonority International Instrumental Competition will be an even more exciting, satisfying, and fulfilling experience for all of the participants, parents, and teachers.

Once again, a huge thank you to all of you for being a part of this wonderful event and see you again next year!

Minya Excels in Piano

Last Spring, Minya Tang won Grand Prix (the highest place possible) at the prestigious international competition XIV Sonatina and Sonata International Piano Competition. We are so proud of your successes, Minya! Your dedication, consistency, and hard work really pays off!

Minya is eight years old and began studying piano with Mrs. Savitski two years ago. From the first competition she participated in, she decided that she wants to be the best she possibly can be and will always challenge herself. With no shadow of a doubt, Minya proved many times that she won’t give up and will continue to chase her dreams of becoming a concert pianist.

This kind of steadfastness and consistency is a remarkable trait and a great example for any one who wants to succeed. Other than playing piano, Minya loves dancing.

Minya about Mrs. Savitski:

“(…) She is a lovely and experienced piano teacher. She always helps me and support me when we work on difficult pieces that at first make me feel overwhelmed. Mrs. Savitski always encourages me to participate in piano competitions. I am very glad to have such a good piano teacher (…)”
